Agenda

This conference brought together the seven academic areas to celebrate a century of scholarship. Over two days, each academic area hosted a mini-conference covering topics selected by the area in honor of Stanford GSB’s commitment to research.

Accounting

GSB faculty members led paradigm shifts in research across financial, managerial, and tax accounting, as well as corporate governance. Our conference honored these past achievements and showcased contemporaneous research. It was also a fantastic opportunity to reconnect with past and present GSB accounting faculty and PhD students. Participants were part of the conversation that celebrated our legacy and looked ahead to the future!

Economics

The conference showcased a series of talks by PhD alumni, each addressing different research areas that exemplify the breadth of scholarly work at the GSB.

Finance

This research conference marked 100 years of finance at Stanford GSB by convening leading scholars connected to the school to reflect on its foundational contributions and discuss the future of financial economics—from theory and asset pricing to corporate and macro-finance.

Marketing

This conference celebrated the GSB’s centenary and the role that the marketing area has played and continues to play in the development of the GSB as one of the leading business schools of the world. The sessions were dedicated to the main research areas that the marketing group is focused on, as well as some future directions for the group and the field.

Operations, Information & Technology

This research conference celebrated the Operations, Information, and Technology group’s historical contributions to the field of operations, while also fostering forward-looking discussions on emerging challenges and opportunities in areas such as artificial intelligence, healthcare, and sustainability. Sessions included short presentations and panel discussions designed to recognize past achievements and inspire future advancements.

Organizational Behavior

A series of panels featuring current faculty that connected past achievements with future directions in the Organizational Behavior fields.

Political Economy

This conference honored Professors Jon Bendor and Keith Krehbiel’s nearly 75 years of service to Stanford.  The conference celebrated their research on behavioral models of political economy and linking theory with data in analysis of political institutions.
